Ryan Falzon (b.1988) is a Maltese based artist who uses various media and techniques to portray contemporary lifestyle and scenery in an expressive, brutal, humorous way. Using well known imagery from diverse sources, Falzon’s work explores the cut copy paste attitude of the 21st century, where deconstruction and reconstruction are the order of the day.
Falzon followed a course in Fine Arts at MCAST Institute of Art and Design (Malta), obtaining a B.A. (Hons) in 2011 from Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft University (Germany)/MCAST.
Collective Exhibitions include Flavours (MCAST Art and Design, Mosta, 2011), TEN (Valletta Waterfront, 2010), Designation (St. James Cavalier, 2010), The Art of Silence (Galerie Liberte, Valletta, 2010). His short film “Journey to the end of the Night” was screened during Kinemastik Film Festival 2009.
In July 2011, Falzon collaborated with Theatre Anon., creating an installation entitled “The Tattooist” for an on-site project at Ospizio, Floriana.
